Sagicor, ministry clarify insurance benefits

THE EDITOR, Sir:
On Wednesday, September 19, 2018, an article written by me titled 'Sagicor slashes insurance benefits' was published in this newspaper. Since the publication of the article, Sagicor and the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service have reached out to me and have provided some well-needed and appreciated clarifications.
I am now aware that optical and dental services will remain as a benefit under one of the insurance arrangements between Sagicor and the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service-GEASO.
I do apologise for any inconvenience or negativity that my article would have caused to Sagicor.
I applaud the JTA for the move to upgrade our Medicap programme, which will be of significant benefit to educators.
