Letter of the Day | Water at Thompson Town health centre and high school

Published:Wednesday | February 20, 2019 | 12:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

In response to an article carried in the Saturday, February 16, 2019 edition of The Gleaner, the National Water Commission (NWC) wishes to publicly indicate that water is currently being supplied by the NWC to the Thompson Town Health Centre, as well as the Thompson Town High School.

This was confirmed by a visit to those institutions by NWC representatives on Sunday, February 17, 2019. From our visual survey on Sunday, only three leaks were found, and these are scheduled for repairs.

This is not consistent with the impression conveyed by the article, and the public record should therefore be corrected.

We remain and stand ready to do all we can to maintain and improve water supply to all our valued customers across the island.
