Abortion not the best solution

THE EDITOR, Sir:
Abortion is cruel because it robs the unborn child of a chance at life. Likewise, if a mahogany tree were purposely set ablaze, all the furniture that could have been produced from that tree would be destroyed, permanently.
The Bible states that one should do to others as he/she would have done to him/her. None of us who were born and who has the priceless gift, the extraordinary experience, and the magnificent privilege of life, would ever have wished, in hindsight, not to have been born. In fact, I, like most of us, would be devastated if I found out that at one point during my mother’s pregnancy she had, even once, had second thoughts about giving birth to me.
Last, many, if not most, women who have experienced an abortion usually suffer psychological trauma, fear, and guilt to one degree or another, before and/or after abortion. If that’s not a prime indicator, in and of itself, that abortion is just plain wrong, then I don’t know what is.
