Which Vaz are we voting for in East Portland?

THE EDITOR, Sir:
As a concerned voter in East Portland, myself and many others are left at this time very confused after listening to another speech made by Mrs Ann-Marie Vaz.
In this latest speech, she announced her husband as the member of parliament (MP) of East Portland.
She said: ”I stand here joining the MP of East Portland, Daryl Vaz.”
There have been some concerns and speculations regarding the candidate’s husband (who is MP for the adjoining constituency, West Portland) and his level of interest and involvement in East Portland and the campaign.
We want to know if Ann-Marie Vaz is just a pawn in this game of politics, put out on the front line to secure the seat, after which her husband will step in to run the constituency.
That would be deceiving the people of East Portland.
We want to know who’s really running for the seat in East Portland and who we are really voting for when we cast our votes.
