Dis-‘Unity in the City’

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I write to express my utter disgust with Saturday night’s staging of Unity in the City. To begin, the event started almost two hours after the advertised time of 6 p.m.. There was chaos at the gates with persons pushing and shoving. Despite the late start of the event, patrons were charged and ready for a night of praise and worship. Minister Marion Hall delivered an excellent set; however, it was too long. Rondall Positive’s set was also great, but unfortunately it was cut short due to the show running behind. Rhoda Issabella was five minutes into her ministry and was basically hauled off the stage.

The crowd in the grandstand and the bleachers complained about not being able to hear the audio properly. To top it all off, Travis Greene was slated to perform; we later found out, via a video message posted on his personal Instagram page, that he would not be coming. Unity in the City has yet to make an announcement that he would not be coming!

I am very disappointed and would like an apology to be issued by the organisers of this event. Secular shows are able to pull off top-notch productions and if this event is supposed to be in worship and reverence of our God, it should be done accordingly.
