Democratic farce

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Now that the political charade of democracy (People’s National Party presidential election) has been exposed one more time by one of the two political parties in Jamaica, I wonder if it is time for a genuine democratic movement for the next election.

Jamaica is struggling with the lack of vision of both political parties whose leaders are ill equipped to manage the future of the country in the current global environment, or enable and empower the population to achieve their best potential. Yet they are retained in office for no purpose except to say that they are important, even if useless.
