No disrespect to Starbucks, homeowners

THE EDITOR, Madam:

At Sunday’s launch of Proven REIT’s new development, I made reference to Starbucks’ lattes in comparison to the affordability of apartments. In hindsight, I recognise that it was a flippant and inappropriate remark, and I wholeheartedly apologise to all those making tremendous sacrifices to achieve homeownership.

I also wish to assure the owners and franchise operators of Starbucks that I meant no harm to their excellent brand and hereby withdraw the reference and unreservedly apologise to them as well.
