NWC improving water supply in Corporate Area

Published:Saturday | November 9, 2019 | 12:21 AM

THE EDITOR, Madam:

Please allow the National Water Commission (NWC) to respond to the letter published on Wednesday, November 6 regarding water supply to a property on Upper Sandringham Avenue (off Eastwood Park Road in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew) by saying that the NWC has since investigated the matter and restored supply to the complainant’s property.

The customer’s supply pipeline had been blocked, compounding the low water pressure and other issues with supply to the area.

While we continue to work with our partner agencies to complete work on the underlying major issues such as replacing the unrepairable broken 18” Ferry Pipeline and commission into use the new transmission mains along Constant Spring Road and Hagley Park Road, localised issues like these can make service to individual customers worse. Each has to be investigated and responded to.

We are, therefore, continuing to work at adjusting the network to better serve more customers, solving confined problems like these while treating with the bigger issues at the same time.
