The Church cannot be muzzled

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I write in light of a recent media report that speaks to the pastor who doomed two dead members – one to hell and one to heaven.

It is to much regret to know that such a story would make the news. I am of the firm opinion that it is misleading and could not be seen as a serious commentary.

I believe that churches must be free to preach whatever message they wish and should not be silenced for their beliefs or doctrine. Likewise, people must be free to believe and live what they want to.

I am outraged that people would want to dictate to the Church what they must believe or preach. If it does not match up to your liking, then the church must be burnt at the stakes.

While I can agree that no one has the right on Earth to place people into heaven or hell, I can also say that no one should hold the Church hostage.

I am a little saddened by the fact that the newspaper report would want to state that this led to the death of a family member. Now that is just pure gossip and hatred to spread on the congregation and its leaders.

The Church has its duty to preach the truth: “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life”.
