Reopen schools in January 2021

THE EDITOR, Madam:

With the coronavirus pandemic already claiming 51 lives so far, we should focus our attention on the reopening of schools for next year January instead of October 2020. Furthermore, the year is almost ending, and the majority of the school terms are already under way. But in the meantime, students, teachers, and parents should use the rest of the time to do research while the Government continues to put some collective safety measures in place and gather some insights as we continue the fight against this virus.

Also, postponing the reopening of schools until next January would allow the Ministry of Education more time to put protocols together so that normality can be restored as time goes by.

We all need to put our shoulders to the wheel and obey the protocols to combat this pandemic, which is robbing us of many things – our people, our time, our sporting events, etc – and making life more difficult, challenging, and painful.

Untimely deaths are sweeping the world, now, more than ever, collectively and individually. Our only hope is that God is present and He sees and knows everything, plus we are bestowed with His love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness.
