Daniel Thwaites nailed it

THE EDITOR, Madam:

My word, Daniel Thwaites cyapit to carpit was priceless.

But jokes aside, the issues with the roads and their maintenance do not reside with only one administration. In truth, roadworks is the political tool of choice for both parties, and as a driver traversing the roads for over 15 years, this is a painful reminder of how bad roads impact us negatively. The problem is further exacerbated when your new vehicle’s front end is damaged by these poorly engineered roads and have your licence plate removed because you are found to be driving a defective vehicle.

The question here remains, what is our recourse, as taxpayers? And the bigger question is, who will bell the cat?

I really appreciate Daniel’s much-needed and timely overview of what everyone knows, and it is well articulated.

My solution is, just like in other facets of life, you have action groups. We, the taxpaying motorists, need to form a powerful voting lobby group to not only stop the haemorrhage of our hard-earned tax dollars, but to prevent further such things from being recycled ad nauseam.

Again thanks, Daniel, the hammer found the nail squarely.
