Mark Golding is the best choice for PNP

THE EDITOR, Madam:

There is an argument put forward by some People’s National Party members that they want Lisa Hanna because she can beat Andrew Holness. In the next election they need to add 18 seats to win and I don’t see that happening, no matter how unpopular the Jamaica Labour Party gets.

Right now, the People’s National Party needs fixing and Mark Golding is the best person to fix that party . They need to unite their base by getting their supporters to come out and vote. It doesn’t make sense reaching outside of your base when your base needs fixing first.

If Hanna can’t fix her seat in South Eastern St Ann, how does she believe she can fix the People’s National Party? Will they pick hype over substance? Can she even add seven seats to her party in the next general election when she only won her seat by 31 votes? The South Eastern St Ann constituency was created in 1959 and Lisa Hanna is the first People’s National Party candidate to get under 6,000 votes, which tells me something about her as a leader.
