Don’t party, instead pray during Christmas

Published:Tuesday | November 24, 2020 | 12:06 AM

THE EDITOR, Madam:

The year is almost over and we are now in the Christmas season. Therefore, apart from doing our regular shopping, going to the markets and supermarkets; paying our bills; going to the barber and hairdresser parlours; and so on, we should postpone all other activities until next year, or when the coronavirus pandemic is under control.

We should forget about this year’s Grand Market – no way should it be allowed to take place. Neither should there be any Christmas parties; no stage shows or big events. We should only focus our attention on spending Christmas with our families, preparing some nice Christmas dinner, and enjoying it with them.

For God’s sake, stop playing lewd music in the public space or have an urge to party; instead, pray that everyone is safe from this deadly virus. Manners and respect is what is needed now.

Let us also commend our Government, the Ministry of Health and other concerned citizens for their good fight against this virus.

Let us stick together to fight COVID-19. Let us not give it an inch, or a mile, in our space. Let us continue keeping it at bay until the perfect remedy for it becomes available.
