Letter of the Day | There are good, helpful people among us

Published:Monday | April 12, 2021 | 12:08 AM

THE EDITOR, Madam:

On Friday, April 9, I went to the supermarket to make purchases in preparation for the weekend lockdown. Afterwards, I was walking southerly along Red Hill Road, when at the intersection with Parkland Drive, I stubbed my toes against the sidewalk and fell, dropping my groceries and receiving minor injuries.

Immediately, a young man on a motorbike pulled up, assisted, and remained with me. Then, a lady, driving northerly, asked about my address. I could not see the reason for her question then, but responded.

Moments later, the gentleman directed me to a car, the driver of which was the above-mentioned lady, who had turned around in order to take me home. I was unable to ascertain the names of the lady and gentleman, but remain eternally grateful for their assistance.

Amid COVID-19, crime and the likes, there is still good among us.
