Epitome of insanity

THE EDITOR, Madam:
The Government’s handling of the vaccination drive aimed at taming the COVID monster has gone from the ridiculous to the sublime, lurching from one foul-up to the next.
Just when it seems things couldn’t get any worse, it appears Prime Minister Andrew ‘Brogad’ Holness has taken leave of his mind.
According to a news item attributed to him, the likelihood of making incarcerated DJ Vybz Kartel an ambassador for vaccine is being considered.
Seriously?
This is the same Vybz Kartel who is a convicted murderer. Who thumbs his nose at the law, as he not only records constantly from behind bars but conducted at least one high-profile interview from prison.
There is no doubt that he commands the attention of his multitude of fans, primarily in the 16-40 age group. Conversely, however, no well-thinking Jamaican within or outside that age block seriously gives a thought to Kartel’s thoughts.
Why then even entertain the idea?
What’s next, an ambassador’s passport upon his release?
God help us!
