14-member Constitutional Reform Committee named
Wishing the committee all the best and I’m hopeful good things will come from its work.

Sigh. Whenever I hear updates about this, it frustrates me more because … just as the plans to make Portmore a parish. My thoughts are “yeah it would be nice but do we need to do it right now”

No development specialist, no historian or cultural anthropologist, no rep for Rastafari. Lawyer, lawyer, lawyer. Lawyer alone know the constitution?

I can possibly buy the argument that the attorney general and Dr Barnett were obvious picks for the Constitutional Reform Committee. One is the state’s chief legal adviser and the other is the country’s foremost constitutional law expert. Fine. But seven additional lawyers?!

Only four women? Don’t we have enough competent females to balance the gender scale in 2023?
– @eiztim1
Yes! And constitutional public meetings should be part of the process.

Can we keep the coat of arms? We’re the only country in the world to have a topless woman on our coat.

Glad to see the younger generation represented.
– @kimberlyelias
This is a BIG DEAL and BIG responsibility. The nation depends on you to make the best decisions. Please serve well.
– @iampattiers
We need an actual president and vice president. No ceremonial president, please.
– @ja_ganel
Why so many lawyers?
– @ceejay.jm
Yes get rid of out colonial past. Have a few names we want to change too. Also ensure we have rights to bear arms too. Full-time we can protect ourselves.
