Vegans around the world recently celebrated, as November 1 is reserved annually for a jubilant celebratory moment for those who have chosen to abstain from eating and using animal products.

For whatever reasons people choose to go vegan, the lifestyle is becoming increasingly popular. These persons fall into a number of categories. So, let’s learn them.

Dietary vegans - This is the most popular vegan type. People who have chosen to remove animal products from their diets, but continue to use it in other items such as clothing and cosmetics, fall in this group.

Whole-food vegans - Persons who prefer a diet rich in whole foods make up this veganism faction. Legumes, seeds, nuts and whole grains are some of the foods usually enjoyed by whole-food vegans.

Junk-food vegans - Processed foods such as non-dairy ice cream, frozen dinners and vegan meats, are consumed by junk-food vegans. These persons rely heavily on vegan foods that go through a series of mechanical or chemical operations to preserve them.

Raw-food vegans - As the grouping suggests, only raw foods are consumed by members in this classification.

Do you know of any one who falls in either of these categories?
