COVID-19 restrictions might have put a damper on the entertainment arena, but when it came to matters of the heart, couples were up in the aisles saying I do.

And who could blame them? The virus had this uncanny way of drawing lovers even closer together. Of course, planning nuptials meant downsizing the guest list or adding a virtual element for those absent or overseas. That was just a small price to pay for spending forever with your soulmate. Here are some of the well-known couples who tied the knot last year.

State Minister of Love: Terrelonge weds Leslie

Alando Terrelonge, state minister in the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, wed his partner, Racquel Leslie, in 2021. The two are parents to three sons.

HappiLee ever Perkins

Athlete manager, marketer and author Tanya Lee married the love of her life, Nicholas Perkins, in the first month of 2021, in a beautiful ceremony held at Craig Bank on Old Stony Hill Road in St Andrew, and they are living HappiLee Ever Perkins.

Fostering love with the Hornes

Instead of having a grand wedding, attorney-at-law and businessman Norman Horne, and his partner in love, Ashley-Ann Foster, eloped at the start of the year in Florida, and are hoping to celebrate with family and friends with a bigger nuptial soiree this year.

A 'Tingling' Feeling

Theatre practitioner and entrepreneur Rosemary Murray tied the knot with videographer and video director Michael Tingle in May. The two became one in an African-themed wedding with close friends and family, and once you saw the look of love on their faces, you couldn't help but get that 'Tingling' feeling.

'Wiles' about each other

In September, the beautiful Soyini Phillips, entrepreneur and Miss Universe Jamaica Central franchise owner, said I do to her handsome husband, Damian Wiles. The two first bonded while working with her foundation, Save our Schools, but it wasn't long before they were falling in love.

'Fenda' of Love

Reggae artiste Chuck Fenda married his long-time partner and the mother of his two children, Abigail Walters, in December. He lauded his gorgeous bride for her effervescent beauty, loyalty, motivation and love. The boss chick returned the sentiment, promising to be by his side forever.

Meet the Barkers

In September, Brianna and Robert Barker said 'we do' in a breathtaking wedding ceremony at Trident Hotel in Portland. The digital creator, fashionista and socialite tied the knot in a stunning luxury gown, and the two honeymooned in the Maldives.

They're engaged!

Green with nuptial excitement

Member of Parliament for St Elizabeth South Western Floyd Green had many filled with excitement as he posted a picture of himself along with the hand of his fiancée, Dr Kerida Brice, donning a beautiful engagement ring. The caption simply read, 'Yes'. Viewers were then captivated by the enchanting photoshoot of the lovely couple, which followed in quick succession. We look forward to the nuptials of the soon-to-be Mr and Mrs Green.

Shanzi and Nino are engaged

In October, social media influencer and fashionista, Shanice 'Shanzi' Allen, received the most amazing proposal from her boyfriend, party promoter and businessman, Jermaule Adair, better known as Nino. With balloons, pictures, rose petals and a life-size sign which read, 'Marry me', the magical moment was captured on camera and shared for fans to see on their social media platforms and YouTube channel. Cheers to the soon-to-be Adairs.
