Caribbean Flavours and Fragrances Ltd (CFF), a company under The Derrimon Trading Group, and the premier supplier of quality flavours and fragrances for beverage, baking, confectionery and ice cream manufacturers across the Caribbean, continues to provide support to the End Time Basic School, an early childhood institution based in the Penwood Place community of St Andrew.

Although they provide assistance to a few other institutions, the End Time Basic School has been their primary beneficiary for the last five years, with assistance coming in the form of seasonal treats for the children, infrastructural development, furniture repairs, event sponsorship and provision of toiletries.

Specifically in response to the sudden onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company solved the need for child-friendly sanitisation supplies, as they are the manufacturers of such products.

Founded September 1995, the school currently stands as the home of education for 51 students. The school’s curriculum provides a well-rounded experience for all its students and is established on the vision of building on holistic development in order to make better students and foster growth as they progress.

Partnerships such as their existing relationship with CFF allows them to ensure this vision is made a reality for every student who attends. CFF has played a vital role in supporting schools within the community as giving back is a fundamental principle that they stand on.

The partnership with the End Time Basic School is described as the brainchild of General Manager Janice Lee, who shares, “The End Time Basic School has been a part of our outreach and mentorship programme over the past few years. We provide support to the school in various areas such as sanitizers, retrofitting specific areas on the compound, conducting back-to-school and Christmas treats, as well as participating in their sporting pursuits. We at Caribbean Flavours and Fragrances Limited are always on hand to give back. We are proud supporters of End Time Basic School and we encourage other corporate participants to get on board as we rescue our children through outreach.”

The school recently hosted its annual Sports Day and the presence of the CFF family was not missed, becasue of their financial and physical assistance. They provided refreshments for students in addition to having the physical support of staff to assist them with organisation and execution on the day.

Principal of the End Time Basic school Mink Tulloch-Paige explained that this Sports Day was outstanding, “the best staging that the school has ever experienced,” she shared. She excitedly detailed the enjoyment, excitement and competitive spirit displayed on the faces of all students in attendance.

Over the years, CFF’s support of the End Time Basic School has remained consistent. CFF Business Development Officer Janique McKenzie describes the End Time Basic School as the ‘baby’ of the company, and she further described the institution as their feeding ground for development. She explains that, outside of their day-to-day operations, giving back, maintaining the partnership and continuing to provide support for The End Time Basic School as well as others, will be a point of focus for them for years to come.
