Josh Andy is a digital creator, travel enthusiast, entrepreneur and fashionista. Between frequent-flyer miles, showcasing jaw-dropping stock, running a business, recording, production and strutting on the world’s runways, there’s an undeniable aura that invites others to follow her inspiring journey.

For as long as she could remember, Andy had dreamt of becoming a movie star someday. She even wrote in her diary that, after the very first pay cheque she earned, she would buy a camera and invest in her online career. “Let’s just say that, to date, the dream just has not left my bones. When I saw the positive feedback I got from my viewers after posting my first TikTok video a year ago, I quickly realised this dream could eventually become my reality, so I did not hesitate to pursue it,” she told Saturday Living.

As a lifestyle content creator, her job allows her to be herself. I “get up every day and be myself, record it and share it with an audience. In a synopsis, that’s pretty much what it’s about”. She went on to extend her content to YouTube, sharing her journeys and fashion hauls for the world to see.

EARLY DAYS

Growing up, Andy’s mother would go above and beyond to provide for her and her older sister. Recounting nothing but good memories, she shared a wish to do it all over again. When it came to feeding the mind, education played a very vital role in fostering rational and logical thinking. Although she endured sleepless nights in university, the former student is grateful for the knowledge and experience.

Now a content creator, she also owns and operates an online lifestyle store called Shop Majesty. Since 2015, the budding entrepreneur, a sixth former at the time, was always seeking ways to make money. There, she came up with the idea to supply aspects of her lifestyle to others. “I stocked phone cases, faux jewellery and temporary tattoos. That was my ‘lifestyle’ at the time.”

With growth came a change in stock. While in college, her interests evolved to décor and other accessories, shifting the whole dynamic of Shop Majesty. “I believe we are all royal in our own right, so that is what inspired the name. My brand is myself. That’s exactly what makes us different. I don’t sell what is ‘hot’; instead, I offer what you never even knew you needed. Like me, the brand is unique and exclusive,” she added.

With plans to aggressively expand her social media platforms, Andy is continuing to offer her talents and bring pure artistry to all she does. At the time of this interview, she was looking into starting another project: hosting a podcast.

If you’re looking to live your best life, Andy recommends that you start small. It could be the simple pleasures of treating yourself to dessert every now and then, or a long self-care shower once per month. “Just remember, nothing is too good for you. Monetary wise or not, always try to set aside time for something every now and again that will help to unravel the best version of you.”

Let’s get into your style; how would you describe your fashion sense?

I am a minimalist. I do not like a lot going on at once. I also try my best to always put comfort over style. If I am not comfortable in what I am wearing, I definitely will have a hard time feeling at peace while I am out. So let’s say I’m a sporty, classy, comfy minimalist.

What are your five favourite outfits in your closet at the moment?

1. A sun dress

2. Plain black fitted top and leggings

3. Oversized T-shirt and sweat shorts

4. Button-down top and shorts, and

5. A plain-coloured romper

Are you into brands, or do you prefer the fit over everything else?

Yes, I am definitely into brands. I am into the quality of the fit over anything else. I really enjoy sustainable fashion as well.

Have you ever made a purchase that looked even better on you than you could have imagined?

Yes, all the time. I buy most of my clothing online without being able to fit them in person. I hate the hassle of in-store purchases. So, nine times out of 10, I put my outfit on for the very first time minutes before leaving my house. And most times I am not disappointed. The vision I have in my head when purchasing usually comes to life when the outfit is on.

Who is your style icon, and why?

I am such a flip-flopper with my style. One day I am an advocate for basics; the next, I am preppy and classy. I actually do not look to anyone for inspo with fashion. My body is unique to me. Usually, others with my body type are more interested in hiding their bodies than creating a fashion statement. So I look to my own self for fashion inspiration.

On any typical day, what’s in your bag?

My car keys, AirPods, lip gloss, hairbrush, planner, pen, purse, and minty gum. And, of course, my asthma pump, always.

If you were to post where you would rather be, what would be the location and why?

I would be in St Barts. Being Jamaican means I am an island girl at heart. St Barts has a very island vibe, yet it’s luxurious at the same time. I really enjoy exclusiveness, and so an island like that is a dream destination of mine. If not, definitely Hawaii.
