Internationally, Kourtney Kardashian wed Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker; pop star Britney Spears tied the knot with Sam Asghari, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck finally said ‘I do’ and Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons made it official in Jamaica. There was also much to celebrate on The Rock. Here are a few of the biggest I dos in 2022.
The Greens cemented the knot
Member of Parliament Floyd Green tied the knot with the love of his life, Dr Kerida Brice, in June last year. While he shared a few photos of their big day during that time frame, he also closed off the year with a pictorial on social media, along with this caption, “Undoubtedly the absolutely best day of the year... of my life... pure happiness.. in colour or black and white .. ending the year... beginning another...praying for many more.”
‘Schwapping’ vows
Founder and chief executive officer of SmartGrow and FarmIT, Daniel Schwapp, ‘schwapped’ vows with his wife, Megan, in July at Goblin Hill in Port Antonio, Portland. Escorting him to take his place as groom were parents Phillip and Melanie Schwapp. A festive reception followed the stunning ceremony.
Zen and Den get hitched
YouTuber and lifestyle content creator Denille Rene walked up the aisle to meet and marry Rushane ‘DJ Zen’ Bahadosingh in November. Friends and followers were happy to celebrate the occasion, as the bride shared highlights of their beautiful garden wedding at Boone Hall Oasis in St Andrew.
‘Adairing’ moment
Who can forget the matrimonial highlight of 2022? On Sunday, December 11, social media influencer Shanice ‘Shanzi’ Allen and party promoter Jermaule ‘Nino’ Adair said I do in the most majestic wedding ceremony of the season. Specially invited guests were asked not to take photographs or recordings, giving the newly-weds creative freedom to post all the excitement. Of course, more of the journey will be revealed in their reality series.
