What’s a soft glam? Think of it as a step in-between natural make-up and full glam. It focuses on natural lips, glowing skin, diffused eye shadow, and tamed eyebrows. We connected with Gabrielle Waite, chief executive officer of GabbyGlam Co and the 2023 The Distinguished in Beauty awardee to create this polished, distinguished make-up look. Thinking of switching up your routine, consider incorporating Waite’s tips.

Step 1: Start with a clean and moisturised face

Begin by washing your face with a gentle cleanser and applying moisturiser to your skin. Allow the moisturiser to sink in for a few minutes before moving on to the next step.

Step 2: Apply a primer

Applying a primer to your face helps your make-up stay put for longer and creates a smooth canvas for your foundation.

Product used: Waite used the Palladio Rice Primer Mattifying and Perfecting on model Lisa Sangster.

Step 3: Conceal under-eye circles and blemishes

Use a concealer to cover up any under-eye circles, blemishes, or other imperfections on your face. Use a small brush or your finger to blend it seamlessly into your skin.

Product used: LA Girl PRO Conceal

Step 4: Apply foundation

Use a foundation that matches your skin tone to create a flawless base. You can use a brush or sponge to apply it, whichever you feel most comfortable with.

Product used: NARS Foundation

Step 5: Highlight

Use a foundation two-three shades lighter than your original foundation shade in areas where the light naturally hits your face.

Step 6: Set your make-up

Use a translucent setting powder to set your make-up in place and prevent it from smudging or rubbing off.

Product used: Make-up Designory (MUD) Loose Powder

Step 7: Apply a neutral eye shadow

Apply a soft neutral eye shadow all over your eyelids, such as a light brown or beige shade.

Step 8: Apply a darker eye shadow to your crease

Use a muted earth tone shade in the crease and dark muted shade on the outer third of the eye.

Step 9: Apply eye liner

Waite used an eye liner brush for added drama.

Step 10: Lashes

Curl your lashes with an eyelash curler and apply a coat of mascara to make your lashes appear longer and fuller. You can elevate the look with lashes.

Product used: Maybelline Great Lash

Step 11: Apply blush or contour

Use a blush of your choice or your ideal contour.

Step 12: Add highlighter

Use a highlighter to enhance your features and create a dewy, glowing look. Apply it to your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, and your cupid’s bow.

Product used: MAC Highlighter

Step 13: Apply lip colour

Finish off your look with a soft pink or nude lip colour that complements your skin tone.

Product used: Gabby Glam Selah lippie

Step 14: Set with setting spray

Apply setting spray to ensure your make-up lasts.

Product used: Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray
