A seven-year-old boy was allegedly abducted and sodomised yesterday afternoon in a May Pen, Clarendon, community by a 30-year-old man from the area.

The accused man and his brother were later held and severely beaten by members of the community.

According to the seven-year-old boy’s mother the youngster went to a nearby gully to catch fish after arriving home from school.

She says that’s when the perpetrator tied him up and took him to a cave some three miles away where he sodomised him.

She says, after noticing that her son was absent for an unusually long period, she went outside and saw a crowd of people coming towards her house with the boy crying uncontrollably.

She says she immediately took the boy to the police station, then to the May Pen hospital, where he was treated by doctors.

The police have confirmed the incident and say the man and his brother have been admitted to hospital for treatment.

They say they are carrying out investigations into the matter.
