The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre understands that the political directorate and the board of the National Solid Waste Management of Authority (NSWMA) are divided over whether executive director, Jennifer Edwards, should be sacked over the handling of the Riverton City dump.
Edwards' contract expired over a month ago.
The Gleaner Online can report that Edward's fate is among the issues being discussed at a board meeting of the NSWMA at this hour following seven days of fire and smoke from the Riverton dump.
Questions have also surfaced as to whether the NSWMA will revert to its role as an authentic regulator pursuant to the law when it does not wholly own the four trucking companies operating at the disposal site.
