Arnaldo Brown (foreground) in error said, there will be a new Member of Parliament for St Catherine South West called Rudyard Spencer.

Arnaldo Brown, the PNP standard bearer in St Catherine East Central, blundered at the microphone Saturday night, saying the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP's) Rudyard Spencer will win a St Catherine seat.

Spencer, the incumbent Clarendon South East MP is battling to hold on to the seat he won by only 107 votes in 2011.

Addressing a PNP mass meeting in Old Harbour, St Catherine South West, Brown said he has no doubt that the incumbent Everald Warmington would be removed in Thursday's general election.

"There will be a new member of Parliament for this area called Rudyard Spencer," Brown said.

Quickly recognising his error, he corrected himself saying its Rudyard Mears, the PNP candidate, who will win the seat.

"It is time for us to have a decent candidate and representative of the people who will treat the people with respect," Brown said.

Scean Barnswell from the neighbouring parish of Clarendon also blundered saying Mears is poised to be the new MP for South West Clarendon.

He too quickly corrected himself.

South West Clarendon is represented by the PNP Noel Arscott.
