JTB staffer lauded for service
The United States-based Religious Conference Management Association (RCMA) earlier this week paid tribute to Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) Miami employee, Marcia Bullock-Jobson, regional director of groups and conventions, for her 40 years of service with the travel promotions agency.
The RCMA is a professional, non-profit, multi-faith organisation consisting of individuals who plan and manage meetings, conferences and conventions worldwide, and it has enjoyed a close relationship with Jamaica through the efforts of Bullock-Jobson for many years.
During a recent visit to the JTB's Miami office, RCMA President and CEO Harry Schmidt pointed out that Bullock-Jobson's service to the JTB and to the RCMA is by any standard an impressive contribution and that she has served as a very productive bridge between the organisation and Jamaica.
Dependable presence
"Marcia has been such a dependable presence in the RCMA family during the last 40 years. We are thankful for her dedication and wonderful contribution," Schmidt said.
Bullock-Jobson joined the JTB in the mid-'70s, and for the last 22 years, she has managed the groups and conventions portfolio, overseeing tremendous growth for Jamaica in this valuable niche market.
"I have worked closely with the RCMA for many years, promoting Jamaica to the faith-based planner community, and this is a very proud moment for me to be recognised for my efforts in this arena," Bullock-Jobsonsaid.
Over the years, Bullock-Jobson has initiated a broad range of trade shows workshops, meetings and incentive travel programmes that have increased Jamaica's slice of the groups and conventions business.
