Two business owners were on Monday evening shot dead in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew just seconds after closing their business place.

They are 50-year-old Helen Meghoo and 60-year-old Andrew Davis.

According to the police, Meghoo and Davis, who is her common-law husband, had just closed up their business place on South Dale Plaza about 7:30 p.m when they were attacked by a gunman.

The gunman reportedly sprayed their car with gunshots, hitting the two multiple times in their upper bodies before escaping.

Meghoo and Davis were rushed to hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Senior Superintendent Millicent Sproul Thomas, head of the St Andrew Central Police, says no motive has yet been established for the killings.
