When asked whether the Government was doing enough to protect women and children, young people responded with a resounding no. The controversial moot was the focus of the St Andrew South Police Youth Club Debate Competition on International Youth Day, Friday August 12. The main sponsor, J. Wray & Nephew Foundation, hosted the finals at its headquarters on Spanish Town Road.

Chairman of J. Wray & Nephew Limited, Clement 'Jimmy' Lawrence expressed satisfaction with the competition and reinforced the company's continued commitment to

community development.

"We believe in achieving national growth by stimulating positive change in our communities, particularly through the youth. We are delighted to support our long-time partner, St Andrew South Police Division, through our foundation on this initiative and it was fitting that the finals were held on International Youth Day."

Commander of the St Andrew South Police, Senior Superintendent Arthur Brown, said, "We're impressed with the level of research put in by the youth club members and we are pleased with the outcome."
