Hitmen paid to carry out recent double murder in Manchester — Police

The Manchester police are reporting that they have determined that the recent killing of 36-year-old taxi driver Dinval Whyte and 33-year-old salesman Garfield Morgan, in Mollison, Christiana, was a paid hit.

Head of the Manchester police, Superintendent Wayne Cameron, said Morgan's premises was searched recently and several items, including bootlegged rum and other items believed to be sold on the black market were found.

According to Cameron, Morgan was a target of the hired killers, while Whyte was killed because he was present at the scene when the gunmen struck.

Whyte and Morgan were killed last Sunday at approximately 12:25 p.m.

One body was found beside a taxi while the other was found inside a house.

Meanwhile, Cameron said the police believe the killing of two men in the Comfort area of the parish in February, was linked to the deadly lottery scam.

Cameron is pleading with residents who have knowledge of suspicious happenings in their communities to come forward and cooperate with police.

He said there are five active criminal gangs operating in Manchester with two, the Grey Ground gang and the Comfort gang, being targeted by the police in a special effort to reduce crime in the parish.
