Sixty-six-year-old Anthony Kelly is to be sentenced on August 21 for using stolen documents to obtain motor vehicle titles.

Kelly has pleaded guilty to eight counts of uttering forged documents, six counts of receiving stolen property and one count of conspiracy to defraud.

The police say between March 2016 and June this year he visited several tax offices where he tendered Motor Vehicle Certificates of Title, along with authorisation letters, to carry out transfers of motor vehicles belonging to other persons.

The police say investigations revealed that the documents were fraudulent and that the Certificates of Title belonged to a batch of titles which had been reported stolen from Tax Administration Jamaica in 2011.
