Manchester Police to step up operations as rape cases increase

Head of the Manchester Police, Superintendent Wayne Cameron, says the police are to step up their patrol and enforcement activities in the parish in light of an increase in rapes.
Superintendent Cameron says the division has recorded 19 such cases since the start of the year.
This is four more than for the similar period last year.
The senior cop says the police have arrested three suspects over the past two weeks.
Superintendent Cameron says the police will be targeting hotspots.

Meanwhile, the Manchester Police head says the parish has seen reductions in six of the seven major crimes.
He says murders, shootings, aggravated assault, break-ins and larceny are down.
The only increase was seen in rape.
