The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) is reporting that the final count of votes in the by-election in St Andrew South Western has been completed.

In a release this morning, the EOJ said the Returning Officer for each constituency must submit the results to the Director of Elections within seven days after completing the final count.

After receiving the results, the Director of Elections will then advise the Governor-General and the Clerk to the Houses of Parliament as to the winning candidates.

In the meantime, the EOJ says as at this morning 58 boxes in St Andrew Southern and 54 boxes in St Mary South Eastern were left to be counted.
