Clarendon man charged for Bustamante Highway crash

A Clarendon man is facing criminal charges arising from a motor vehicle crash that left one woman dead and seven persons injured.

The police say 52-year-old Winston Thompson has been arrested and charged with causing death by dangerous driving following the two-vehicle collision along the Bustamante Highway in the vicinity of Foga Road.

Forty five-year-old Karen Sullior of Mount Mariah district, in St Ann, was killed in the crash.

The May Pen police report that Thompson was the driver of a motor car that crossed into the path of a minibus travelling in the opposite direction along the Bustamante Highway.

Thompson is to appear in court next Thursday.

Since the start of the year, 273 persons have died on the nation’s roadway.
