St Catherine taxi operator Lamore Johnson has pleaded guilty in the St Catherine Parish Court to malicious destruction of government property.

He was ordered by Parish Judge Alicia McIntosh to pay $30,000 in restitution.

Johnson was taken to court for damaging a motor vehicle clamp that belongs to the St Catherine Municipal Corporation.

The court was told that on February 8, a Municipal Police Officer attempted to clamp Johnson's vehicle when he drove off damaging the equipment.

The matter was investigated and Johnson subsequently charged.

During his court appearance, attorney-at-Law Lancelot Clarke begged the court not to impose any further sanction on Johnson.

As a result, he was ordered to pay restitution, admonished and discharged.
