GraceKennedy Foundation has announced that its scholarship programme for the 2018-19 academic year, which opened on May 1, 2018, will provide over $19 million in scholarships to university students.

In emphasising Grace-Kennedy's commitment to education, Caroline Mahfood, executive director of the foundation, said there is an increasing challenge for university students to fund their education.

"Assisting these brilliant, accomplished young people is an investment in Jamaica's workforce and we are thrilled to be able to contribute towards their future," Mahfood said.

The GraceKennedy Foundation will offer seven named scholarships to students attending The University of the West Indies (UWI), University of Technology (UTech), Jamaica, and Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts.

Persons who are shortlisted for interviews may qualify for a merit scholarship. In addition, the foundation will offer scholarships to final-year students attending UWI, UTech and in the logistics programme at Caribbean Maritime University.

All scholarship recipients who maintain at least a 3.0 GPA will have their scholarship renewed until the completion of their degree.

Only online applications will be accepted. For criteria on the scholarships and to apply, please visit www.gracekennedy.com/gkfscholarships. Applications close on July 15.
