Mary (right) and Mike McLaughlin from the Trees That Feed Foundation donate books to the Violence Prevention Alliance’s (VPA) Trees for Peace Initiative. Accepting a book is Dr Elizabeth Ward (second left), chair of the VPA, and Colleen Wint-Bond, project coordinator for VPA St James. Some 100 schools that have registered for the Trees for Peace Initiative will received the books. The Trees for Peace Initiative was launched on Peace Day, March 6. Schools across the island were encouraged to designate a space for a peace garden. The area is to be used for conflict resolution, as well as relaxation.
