The Inspectorate of the Constabulary of the Jamaica Constabulary Force is probing the circumstances surrounding the escape of four male prisoners from the Cross Roads Police Station Lock-up in St Andrew last night.

The police say two of the men have been recaptured.

They say 21-year-old Rohan Brown, who is charged with robbery, was recaptured on Olympic Way and 23-year-old Richard Walker, who is charged with rape and buggery, was held on Diamond Road, both in Kingston 11.

The police say a manhunt continues for 19-year-old Eustace Powell of Lincoln Road, Kingston 5, who is charged with rape and buggery, and 29-year-old Sanjay Burton, otherwise called ‘Christopher Peart’ or ‘Michael’, of Tavern Avenue, Kingston 6, who is facing fraud-related offences.

According to the police, during a check of the jail cell about 6:50 p.m. the men were discovered missing.

They reportedly escaped by cutting through a metal grille.
