The community of Orange Bay in west Portland is now in mourning following the shooting death of a pregnant woman and the injuring of four other family members, this morning.
Dead is 24-year-old Kimberly Baugh, of Lower Layton of Orange Bay. She was five months pregnant.
A preliminary report from the police indicate that the shooting followed a domestic dispute between family members on Saturday.
According to reports, the family was making preparation for a party, when another family member turned up and demanded money.
When the demands of the male family member were not met, he reportedly left, but not before making several threats, if he did that get the money he had earlier requested upon his return.
Reports from the Orange Bay police are that about 3:15 p.m., the now deceased and four other relatives were conducting a cleaning up exercise after a party, when it is alleged that two men armed with guns approached them and opened gunfire hitting all five.
When the shooting subsided, five persons were found suffering from gunshot wounds including Baugh.
The injured persons were rushed to hospital, where Baugh was pronounced dead and the other four admitted in a critical state.
The police have since arrested man, who they believe can assist them with their investigation.
His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
