Bail extended for St James teacher charged with causing death by dangerous driving

The St James teacher who was charged after her car struck and killed seven-year-old Anchovy Primary School student Easton Stapleton had her bail extended when she made her first appearance in the St James Parish Court yesterday.
The case was set for mention on October 4.
Kerry-Ann Cunningham, who is charged with causing death by dangerous driving, sat with a remorseful look on her face when the case was briefly mentioned before presiding parish judge Sandria Wong-Small.
The prosecution disclosed that Stapleton's post-mortem had not yet been conducted and that a report from the police's Accident Investigation Reconstruction Unit is outstanding from the case file.
Wong-Small then extended Cunningham’s station bail until October 4, at which time the file is expected to be completed.
It is reported that on June 12 Cunningham was on the compound of the primary school and lost control of her car while reversing the vehicle as she attempted to exit the parking spot.
The car struck young Easton and then subsequently crashed into a wall.
The section of the damaged wall collapsed injuring a vendor.
