The Stony Hill Health Centre in St Andrew has been temporarily closed to facilitate a major expansion and renovation project, the South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA) is advising.

In the interim, services have been relocated to the Golden Spring Health Centre in the parish.

According to SERHA, measures have been put in place to address the possible increase in patient load, inclusive of the reassignment of the staff from the Stony Hill Health Centre to the Golden Spring Health Centre.

The opening hours at the Golden Spring Health Centre have also been extended to 8 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The Golden Spring Health Centre was reconstructed and upgraded in 2015, through funding from the Jamaica Social Investment Fund, at a cost of a little over $38 million.

The services currently offered at the Golden Spring Health Centre are:

- Curative

- Maternal and child health

- Community mental health

- Nutrition

- Phlebotomy

- Pharmacy.
