RJRGLEANER Group wins seven CBU awards

The RJRGLEANER Communications Group has copped top honours in seven categories in the 2017 Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU) awards.

The awards were presented during a ceremony on Tuesday evening at the Courtleigh Auditorium, in New Kingston during the 49th CBU Annual General Assembly.

This year all, 10 CBU member entities from nine countries submitted a total of 169 entries across 30 categories. 

The RJRGLEANER group had seven of the 20 winning entries.

For the first time, this year’s awards included prizes for material published in print and on digital platforms and not just on traditional radio, television and cable services. 

The Gleaner's Damion Mitchell won the award for the best investigative report for his entry 'Moravian scandal deepening' while Erica Virtue took the Golden Conch Shell Award for 'Plight of the children'.

Television Jamaica won the other five awards for the RJRGLEANER Communications Group.
