Businessman held allegedly with over $10M in counterfeit goods charged

The police have charged the St Andrew businessman who was held allegedly with over $10 million worth of fake goods.

He is 67-year-old Murli Babani of a Cherry Gardens address.

Babani is charged with unauthorised use of trademark, possession of uncustomed goods and misleading and deceptive conduct.

He was arrested following an operation by investigators from the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch at his business place at the Boulevard Shopping Centre in St Andrew last week Tuesday.

The police said they seized over $10 million worth of counterfeit goods at a store.
