MORANT BAY, St Thomas:

It was in May of this year that Trezawnah Gordon decided to monetise her God-given abilities to take a simple piece of paper and transform it into a heartfelt and appreciative token.

In fact, it was a video that she had seen which gave her the extra fuel she needed to start her journey.

"I've always been artistic, so I'm always creating/making things. I'd make cute little things for friends, family, co-workers. but sometime ago, I saw a video with a Vietnamese couple, and the husband gave his wife a cute little box for their wedding anniversary and when she opened it, there were all these little compartments in it and I thought to myself, 'that's so cute. I can make that!' she laughed as she admitted that that's how she feels about most things.

Thus began Crafty Little Things, a business which specialises in paper craft gift items.

"Whether it be gift boxes, scrapbooks, cards - the possibilities are endless, and occasions limitless. It could be for birthdays, Christmas, Valentine's Day, farewell, get well, baby showers, marriage proposals, anniversaries, retirement, gender reveal, mother's or father's day," she said, bearing witness to the infinitude of her 'papercraftiness'.

Gordon, who is from Morant Bay in St Thomas, has high hopes for her new venture.

She told The Gleaner, "I want Crafty Little Things to be the go-to business for cute, unique papercraft gift items, and I want my customers to always feel all the love I put in each item. I am always so happy when someone gets one of the gifts, wondering what it is, and is totally amazed at all the awesomeness packed inside when it's opened."

Maintaining her nine-to-five, the artsy woman can be seen on any given evening tucked away in her home, surrounded by bits and pieces of paper as she carefully creates another life-changing gift, each of which is personalised to suit its receiver.

"And one of the good things about it is that other gifts can be added inside the box; jewellery, a gift card, pictures, chocolate, small perfume and so on," she noted, adding that the first item from the business was gifted to her mother for her birthday.

Of the feedback thus far, Gordon said her work has been well received both by those who purchase from her and those to whom the gifts are given.
