The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) has announced the resignation of its senior vice president of business development.

In a release last evening, the JPS said Sheree Martin would be leaving at the end of the month.

"Based on my personal goals, I’m ready to take on another challenge while continuing to support Jamaica’s development,” Martin said of her departure.

"In the almost four years since joining JPS in January 2014, Sheree has had executive oversight for a range of portfolio areas, spanning almost every aspect of the Company’s operations," a section of the release stated.

Martin joined JPS in 2014 as senior vice president for Customer and Corporate Services, with responsibility for the key areas impacting stakeholder relations - Customer Services, Human Resources, Corporate Communications, Marketing, and Government & Regulatory Affairs.

In 2016, she was appointed to the position of senior vice president for Energy Delivery, with responsibility for the power company’s Transmission, Distribution and Supply operations.

Her most recent undertaking at JPS was that of senior vice president of Business Development, which took effect in November 2017. In this capacity, she led JPS’ new business division and expanded the company’s role as a 360 service provider, with the development and implementation of unique solutions for customers, both on and off grid.

Through the Energy Solutions arm of JPS, Martin spear-headed a number of joint venture partnerships, and led the implementation of several renewable solutions and combined heat and power (CHP) projects at customer locations.

“JPS has been nothing short of a tremendous experience for growth and learning for me in both a professional and personal capacity. I am grateful for what I was exposed to, what I was able to contribute and achieve, as well for the people that I have met and worked with over the past five years," the outgoing JPS executive said.
