Man jumps from window, dies and policeman shot in Westmoreland
A police constable was shot and injured while an 18-year-old man was hospitalised under guard in Westmoreland this morning.
The unidentified constable was among a team of officers who responded to explosions heard on Meylars Avenue in the parish.
And a 32-year-old man died from injuries he sustained after jumping through a window to elude the police in St Elizabeth.
He has been identified as Leroy Reid, of Providence district in the parish.
The police report that a team was on operation in the community yesterday when Reid jumped through a window to elude them.
The police said Reid fell into a gorge behind his home after jumping from the window.
He was taken to hospital where he died.
