Firearm and ammunition seized in Kingston West, man charged

Detectives from the Kingston Western Police Division arrested and charged a man in connection with a firearm and ammunition that was seized on Oxford Street, downtown, Kingston on Sunday.

He is 18-year-old Ruben Biggs, a welder of Pink Lane, Kingston 14.

The Denham Town Police report that about 8:30 p.m a team was in the area when the saw two men, one of whom ran.

The other was accosted, searched and one Colt .380 semi-automatic pistol with a magazine containing eight .380 rounds of ammunition was found in his possession.

He was subsequently arrested and charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.

He is to appear the Gun Court at a later date.
