MoBay City Run storms airport kitchen

The kitchen was hot, but no one was getting out. In fact, people kept entering the Sangster International Airport kitchen of Goddard Catering Group (GCG) Events in Montego Bay last Friday night, May 3, for Run In the Kitchen, the pre-race party of the annual MoBay City Run, the 10k/5k run and walk event that raises millions of dollars every year to assist tertiary-level students in western Jamaica meet tuition costs to complete their education.
The tempo of the social event was raised to the roof, and patrons partied non-stop from early evening to near midnight under the influence of DJ Pinchaz. The kitchen of the airline and premium events caterers was beautifully transformed, with prep tables-turned-food stations serving delightful fares or decked out for dining on soups, salads, cold cuts, pasta and mouth-watering sweets. GCG certainly lived up to its reputation for outstanding food and supreme service as executive chef Daniel Schweizer and marketing executive Cheridah Douglas mingled with guests, ensuring a flawless flow of fun, food and liquid.
Energetic and astute bartenders from Hard Rock Café in the resort city poured, shook, mixed and stirred all night as DJ Pinchaz drew for hit after hit. As the partying neared its crescendo, there was no distinguishing among the corporate types, journalists, race volunteers, organisers, sponsors, kitchen staff and servers as all had a frolicking time together.
The pre-race party was the perfect prelude to another successful and well-supported raceday on Sunday, May 5.
