A phone stolen from a robbery victim is said to have been found in the possession of accused Michael ‘Judge’ Lamont, the Home Circuit Court was yesterday told as the trial for reputed gang leader Uchence Wilson and 23 others continued.

The revelation was made as a mobile forensic examiner, who has been giving testimony on data retrieved from mobile phones taken from alleged gang members, was being questioned by prosecutors.

On his analysis of the phone, the forensic examiner said that photographs of a woman were retrieved from a WhatsApp folder.

The photos are said to be of the woman who, just over a week ago, testified that two men broke down her door, held her five-member family at gunpoint, tied them up, and robbed them of money, a Toyota bus and other items.

The businesswoman had also identified a white LG phone that she said was stolen from her.

Meanwhile, the forensic examiner said that several calls were placed to other alleged gang members using the phone taken from Lamont.

Looking at the data, which was being displayed in court, the forensic expert told the court that there 56 outgoing calls to a number attributed to Derron Taylor, otherwise called ‘Devin’.

Several other calls were also made to another accused, Stephenson ‘Slim’ Bennett.

Text messages to unidentified numbers were also sent and received on the phone.

Wilson and his 23 alleged gang members are being tried for various breaches of the Criminal Justice (Suppression of Criminal Organisations) Act 2014, commonly known as the anti-gang legislation, for crimes allegedly committed between 2015 and 2017.

They are also answering to breaches of the Firearms Act.
