An Old Harbour, St Catherine businessman was shot and killed near his home on Sunday night.

Ricardo Thomas, 41, was reportedly gunned down after conducting business with clients.

It is reported that Thomas, who operated an Internet service business, was attacked by a gunman who shot him in his neck, hand and upper body.

He reportedly ran and fell in bushes close to his yard.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Relatives and friends are now in mourning, describing the deceased as a caring individual.

His brother, Mario, told The Gleaner that Thomas was a humble and hard-working family man.

Thomas' mother was too distraught to speak. Her church family had gathered at the home for a prayer meeting, seeking divine intervention to cope with the loss.

He leaves behind a 14-year-old son.
