Man held with gun in bag in Spanish Town
A 32-year-old man was taken into police custody after being held with an illegal gun in Spanish Town, St Catherine last night.
Reports are that about 10 o'clock, a police-military team was on patrol near the community of Tawes Meadows when the man was seen.
A bag that was reportedly in his possession was searched and, according to the police, a Ruger P85 pistol affixed with a magazine containing 14 rounds of nine millimetre cartridges was seized.
He was arrested on suspicion of possession of prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
